Fire Equipment Maintenance

Why switch your service to Hampton Park Volunteer Fire Brigade?

Hampton Park Fire Brigade is a fully volunteer operated fire station. Our members dedicate their time and commitment to serving the community 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week, 365 days of the year.

By using Hampton Park Fire Brigade for your fire equipment maintenance, you can be assured that the funds raised are staying within the community to assist a valuable volunteer organisation. These funds help to keep the station operational including:

  • Regular station maintenance
  • Purchase of new fire fighting equipment
  • Repairs and maintenance of current fire fighting equipment
  • Upgrade of brigade vehicles

Our FEM personnel will attend your site every 6 months to perform the required servicing specified in the Australian Standards & Building Codes. Services that we cover are all maintenance for your fire extinguishers, fire blankets, hose reels, fire hoses and smoke alarms. Our prices are very competitive and we provide a full guarantee on all work performed by our officers. We only use high quality CFA endorsed products.

What fire equipment do I need?

Information regarding requirements for fire equipment can be found at:

  • www.cfa.vic.gov.au or
  • Australian standard 2444 - Portable Fire Extinguishers and Fire Blankets – Selection and Location

Every site is unique and will require individual assessment by our qualified FEM Officers.

Fire Equipment Checklist

  • Are there sufficient numbers of fire extinguishers?
  • Are the fire extinguishers the correct type?
  • Are they located appropriately for fire hazards?
  • Have the fire extinguishers been appropriately maintained?
  • Is there a maintenance tag attached to the fire extinguisher?
  • Are the fire extinguishers accessible at all times and clear of all obstructions?
  • Is the signage clear and visible from all approaches?
  • Have all staff been trained in the use of fire extinguishers?

Fire extinguishers & hose reels are the most common form of fire safety equipment in buildings. They are provided within buildings to enable occupants to attempt to extinguish a fire. For a fire extinguisher to be effective, it is extremely important that the correct type of fire extinguisher is provided to match the potential risk that is present.

Staff Training

All occupants of buildings should be trained in fire awareness and the safe and effective use of all fire safety equipment – including fire extinguishers and hose reels. Our members will be happy to provide onsite training for your employees to ensure safe and effective operation of your equipment in the event of a fire.
